Replacing your bathtub pop-up drain is a relatively easy task that can be done in just a few steps.
First, you will need to purchase the appropriate parts for your project. This includes the drain body, drain linkage, and coupling nut assembly. Once these items have been acquired, turn off the water supply to the area and remove the old drain assembly.
Next, attach the new drain body to the tub’s drain pipe and secure it with plumber’s putty. After that, place the coupling nut into the tub’s overflow opening and thread it onto the drain body below. When this has been done, you can attach the linkage to the drain body and secure it with a screwdriver.
Finally, turn the water supply back on and ensure that there are no leaks from the connections. If all goes well, your new bathtub pop-up drain should be ready for use!
