Late Friday evening April 12 I heard an alarm from our sub basement and went to down to find the sump pit lid floating in 8 inches of water - the entire room flooded! I went online and Googled 24 Hour Plumber and found Wrench it Up and poured through amazing review after amazing review and decided to call - it was 11:30, Matt picked up and arrived in 35 minutes and within a matter of an hour had an overnight team here keeping the hydrostatic ground water at bay from rising any further. Within another 12 hours Matt and team had diagnosed our issues with backing up storm drains that had been plaguing our sub basement water removal system. By Sunday he had a team ripping up our driveway to dig out and replace an old storm drainage systems and installed temporary water removal while he sourced new specialty sump pumps. Simultaneously - Matt had his remediation team rip out drywall and damaged wood trim and cabinetry and set up a containment barriers to the room, dehumidifiers and fans. Every step of the process is photo journalized and video is taken for record keeping. Total pros - if you have an emergency situation THIS IS the team to call. I had their employee jazz come in and he was very knowledgeable, professional, and very open with his information, which allowed me to make informed decisions on what suited my needs best. Matt had to locate a leaky stack behind the wall and repair - this was a very tricky job that required significant expertise. Wahid replaced two sink faucet sets with new ones - this was also a tricky task as he had to remove older, intricate sets with many parts. Both are very knowledgeable, professional and efficient. Adrian is very professional and trust worthy. I called multiple plumbers in my area and felt scammed by them. The service was very modernized with instant text and emailed invoices. Adrian was very easy to reach compared to other plumbing companies. My own building's plumber did not do a proper investigation and quickly proposed to change my shower head while not confirming if the tub drain was the issue. Adrian found the leak source and changed my shower head in the same day! While his quote was almost half the price of my building's plumber. The only hiccup is the scheduling with Wrench it Up. The scheduling was quick, easy and a technician was able to come the next day. The technician was very nice, professional and knowledgeable. He diagnosed the leak with relative ease and was transparent with what needed to be fixed and the associated costs. He fixed the issue quickly, did an excellent job and answered all my questions. Although I had an issue with the billing afterwards, I was proactively contacted by their office to figure out a solution. I spoke to John, the office manager, who was very kind and understanding, and we quickly came to a solution. If future clients have any issues, I’d highly recommend asking for John. Plus, I love the feeling of doing things by and for myself. That being said, there are times when you need a professional. I live in a condo and there is a $25,000 deductible meaning that if something goes wrong with my work and I cause damage to not only my unit, but to all the units 5 floors below me, I'm on the hook for $25K. This has happened to other residents in my building multiple times in the 16 years I've been living here, so I know it's real! Throw in tools that I don't have and don't know how to operate correctly and safely (namely a blowtorch and solder) and you can understand the risk/reward calculation does NOT favor doing it myself. So now, about Wrench It Up Plumbing; I did my due diligence and called around, plus I remembered previous experiences with other plumbers who I wouldn't use again or recommend. * When I called Wrench It Up Plumbing, I actually talked to a live person who understood plumbing and was able to assess my needs immediately. Other places I called used an answering service who promised to get a plumber to call me right back; (still waiting). * I was then told very clearly what the company policy and procedure was about setting an appointment agreeing to the work. I really appreciated this transparency right up front as previous plumbers had basically used hostage holding tactics of doing the work and THEN hitting me with a preposterous bill! * I was given a very short and narrow window for setting the appointment; not like some companies who tell you next week between the hours of 9-5. Nope, Wrench It Up Plumbing set up an appointment within 2 hours and gave me a 2-hour wait window! Amazing! * From the time I made the appointment until the plumbers arrived, I was in constant contact via text as to where the plumbers were and when they would be at my place. The plumbers arrived at the BEGINNING of the 2-hour wait window! * Two plumbers arrived at my door - one master plumber and a young apprentice - both of whom were extremely courteous, respectful and pleasant. They came in and assessed the situation, gave me a couple of options with firm prices and once I made my choice, they went back to their truck to get their parts and tools. * The work was done in about an hour with everything cleaned up. Billing and payment was done right on the spot and I had my invoice, receipt, and most importantly a 1-year guarantee via email before they walked out the door. *Five minutes after the two plumbers left, I got a follow-up text reviewing the work done. In summary, Wrench It Up Plumbing earned this 5-Star review for their complete professionalism every step of the way from the initial contact, through the work, the billing AND the considerate follow-up! The technician they sent, Ethan, was absolutely fabulous and so helpful. I still take Covid precautions and he masked up without being asked to do so, which I so appreciate as an autoimmune compromised person! I don't expect that these days but it's very nice. My condo had a lot of weird issues and I so appreciated Ethan's ability to creatively problem solve, fix the issues, and prevent the issue from occurring again in the future. He also showed me how to some of the installation things myself if I had this problem in the future and wanted to DIY it (I mentioned I usually fix things myself :)). We did contact Enercare where we have a plumbing plan and pay monthly fees but the Enercare technician came after 2 days and said that we will have to call someone to takeout the ceiling and then they will investigate. At that point I was like, REALLY..are you kidding me. Since it was a leakage, we never wanted to take any chances although Enercare Technician was least bothered about the situation. Then finally we did contact Wrench it up. The customer service representative was very polite and she did book an appointment right away considering our situation on priority. The technician arrived within 3 hours and found the problem, fixed it and done. Kudos to Wrench it up team. Sorry, forgot technician's name starts something like Koul, was very knowledgeable, polite and fast paced. The only downside is the services are bit overpriced but atleast the problem was taken care of, right away. Not like Enercare where you have to wait for few days even if it emergency and on top of that it was not fixed, not even touched and looked after. Thank you Wrench it Up again.Posted on Google
Rhonda GraceFebruary 5, 2023I would like to first say that Wahid is a wonderful person. He explained every step of the work he and the team were completing. He's friendly, professional and sweet. We had extensive work done on our basement bathroom due to a broken pipe. The guys had to dig up the floor to fix the pipe. It was a bit daunting having a pile of dirt in the hallway but I can tell you, by the end of the day, you wouldn't even know it was there. When they left for the day, our home was spotless. Day two, they cemented the floor. Day three was the installation of two toilets Wahid purchased on our behalf. I have added pictures of the before and after. Two days after the work was completed, I decorated and painted the bathroom that had been neglected for 15 years as my Mother is elderly. We will eventually need a new shower installation and get rid of the old 'tin can' shower in there now. I certainly know who to call and trust. He was patient and knowledgeable since I had no idea what I was talking about. The few times I spoke with him over the phone were pleasant and reassuring. The service was fast. It was an emergency situation, and Jazz was at my door in a timely manner. He came in and saw the problem. He explained the issue and the work needed to be done in a way I understood. He was knowledgeable and efficient. When the work was done he didn't rush to run out the door. He made sure we were satisfied with what was done, re checked his work, and also gave us some great tips. We came to find out we had some sewer line issues pretty much throughout the whole house. We had them excavate, remove, replace and back fill all of the sewer drain pipes. Pros -The job was done professionally and and correctly. -Job was completed under the timeline given -Matt and his team were responsive and great to deal with. Everyone was very respectful and went above and beyond to get the work done. Matt also explained everything to make sure I knew what was going on at each step Cons - No real cons. I could say the price was a bit high but for the amount of work that was done it was worth it. I have no real complaints.
