How to avoid getting a fever for the second time? Well, simply put, try not to get a fever for the first time. It is the same thing as staying away from drain clogging. How to avoid drain clogging for the first time? Prevent clogs in your drains would be the most important thing above all the solutions to unclog them.

The first thing you should do when you notice any issues with your drains is to call a professional plumber. If there are not any issues at this point, then follow these tips:

  • Give your drain a deep cleaning at least once a year. Use a steel-bristled brush to clean around the drain and a combination of baking soda and vinegar to get rid of gunk build up on the inside of the drain.
  • Use a water filter on your faucet. This simple trick reduces the amount of buildup in the pipes.
  • Rinse hair from the shower before you turn off the water. Your hair can collect on the bathtub floor or in a grate on top of the drain, eventually creating a clog. This will prevent a clog from developing in your shower drain.
  • Do not pour cooking grease into the garbage disposal or down the sink. It is one of the biggest culprits when it comes to clogs and slow drains because it hardens almost immediately and collects other gunk, turning into a waxy substance that can cause a major nightmare for you later. A better option is to pour grease into a can or jar and then throw it out in the trash when it is full.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals or bleach. Avoid using these products whenever possible, even if it means you have to go over the same spot twice. These chemicals can damage your drain and make it harder for you to unclog your drains in the future without causing a bigger problem like a leaky pipe.

Doing all these can help you not only prevent drain clog but also maintain your health.
